Juanita joined the Alliance for Climate Protection as The Climate Project Research Liaison in June 2010. Her role is to help connect TCP Presenters with the experts in the Alliance's Solutions and International teams. She has also worked as a wildlife biologist, research laboratory coordinator, science educator, and technical analyst. Juanita was the first author of Climate Change from Pole to Pole: Biology Investigations, a book for high school and college classrooms about the biological effects of climate change. The book was a finalist for the 2009 Association of Educational Publishers Distinguished Achievement Award. She also recently traveled to Antarctica to assist with a National Science Foundation-funded study on the southernmost free-living insect in the world
Juanita was trained as a presenter for TCP during the International Presenter Training, held in Nashville in June 2010. She holds a BS and MS in Biology from the University of Victoria, Victoria, Canada. Juanita currently lives in Leesburg, Virginia with her husband and their two high-maintenance cats.
